Where do I register to vote? At the City Clerk's office. The City Clerk’s office accepts registration of voters from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily. Absentee ballots may be obtained in person or in writing at the City Clerk’s office. When are my city taxes due? That depends on the type of tax. The most common tax is Real Property Tax which is handled by the Tax Assessor and the Tax Collector. Both the Tax Deadline page and the Tax Collector's page on this website have information on a variety of tax-related questions for the City.
Where are the Sled Dog Races? These races are not a city-run event. For more information on the races, see the Chamber of Commerce.
How can I get a copy of the minutes of City Council meetings? The minutes are transcribed by the City Clerk and are posted to the City's site at the News page. For an official copy of the minutes, please contact the City Clerk's office at 527-1265 or e-mail cityclerk@city.laconi.nh.us.

I need a permit for Motorcycle Week. Where do I go? That depends on the type of permit you need. If you need a land use or property rental permit, go to the Planning Department page. You may also go to the Motorcycle Week section of the Special Events page. If you need a vendor or other permit, go to the Licensing Department.
Is there parking at City Hall? Yes, there are fee-free, short-term spaces in the City Hall Visitor's lot, including parking for those visitors with Handicap Parking permits.
What does market value mean for assessment purposes? As noted on the Assessment Office page on this website: It is the most probable value. It is not the highest, lowest or average price. It is expressed in terms of money. It implies a reasonable time for exposure to the market. It implies that both buyer and seller are informed of the uses to which the property may be put. It requires an arm's length transaction in an open market. It requires a willing buyer and a willing seller, with no advantage being taken by either buyer or seller. It recognizes the present use as well as the potential use of the property.
