Laconia Fire Department Recipient of Assistance to Fire Fighter Grant

The Laconia Fire Department has been awarded a $225.000.00 - Assistance to Fire Fighters Grant (AFG) to replace all of the department Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and for Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) packs for fire fighter rescue. These funds include a 5 percent match from the city with the project due for completion within the next few months.

Credit for the grant award goes to Deputy Chief Deb Pendergast, Training and Operations Division after several previous attempts. This grant is the largest award to date for the 2007 grant period.
