Fire Department Responds to Second Alarm Fire in Occupied Duplex

The Laconia Fire Department responded to a reported building fire at 275 Elm Street at 5:33 PM on March 23, 2009. First arriving companies found heavy fire conditions in the attic area and requested a second alarm. Fire crews had difficult in accessing the attic space due to low humidity and high wind conditions which pushed the fire into the adjoining apartment. No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation.
