Capital Improvements Committee

Capital Improvements Committee (CIP) and the Planning Board review capital requests submitted by each department per RSA 674:5(8). CIP meetings are generally held in September and October, with the department heads presenting their requests and the CIP Committee. The CIP Committee ranked the Department CIP requests based upon three criteria - Infrastructure Improvement, Public Need, and Public Liability.

The CIP then presented their rankings to the Planning Board in December 2 at which time the Planning Board votes to carry the recommendations on to City Council. After the requests are ranked a funding source is suggested, (capital outlay, enterprise fund, internal service fund or bond).
