Recycling

Residential Curbside Recycling

Laconia currently offers every-other-week collection of eligible recyclables on specified collection routes. Eligible materials include glass bottles/jars, steel/aluminum cans, plastics #1 through #7, paper, paperboard and corrugated cardboard (OCC).  14-gallon bins are provided by the City free of charge. You may pick them up at the DPW office at 27 Bisson Avenue or request delivery by calling Ann Saltmarsh at 528-6379.

Remote Recycling Drop-Off Sites

Residents not on collection routes or those with a large accumulation of recyclables are encouraged to use drop-off sites at the Laconia Transfer Station, behind the Lakeport Fire Station, at the Weirs Community Center parking lot or behind the old City Garage at 257 Messer Street. Lakeport, the Weirs and Messer Street locations are well lighted and open 24-hours/7-days a week.

Single Stream Recycling

Commencing January 1, 2010, the City will implement single stream recycling. Recycling is now easier and more efficient!  No sorting is necessary.  All materials including paper, cardboard, glass, metal and plastic can all go in the same container.  You may either use the 14 gallon recycling bins provided by the City free of charge, or any rigid household bin or barrel (up to 33 gallons in size) to place your recycling curbside for collection.  Please cleary mark your container "RECYCLING" so that it is not mistaken for your trash container, or pick up a recycling decal at DPW headquarters on 27 Bisson Ave.
