City of Laconia Water Department
Water & Sewer Billing/Rates
Charges for municipal water are billed on a quarterly basis (four times per year). There are three different Billing Cycles within the City - one to which your street has been assigned, which determines the schedule for meter reading, bill calculation and due date of water and/or sewer invoices
Cycle 1 |
Cycle 2 |
Cycle 3 |
| January | February | March |
| April | May | June |
| July | August | September |
| October | November | December |
The meter readings are collected at the beginning of each month listed; the invoices are mailed out at the end of each month; and, the due date is set approximately 35 days from the date of mailing.
The rate structure is a base rate per unit plus consumption in hundred cubic feet (HCF) recorded by the water meter. The formula used to calculate your charge is as follows:
(#of units x base rate) plus (consumption x usage rate) = quarterly charge
See Tariff, Page 2 for definition of units.
For municipal water customers who are connected to the sewer system, the same formula using the Sewer Fund rates is used to calculate the quarterly charge. For sewer customers not served by municipal water an Unmetered Rate of $132.75 per quarter may be charged.
