City of Laconia Zoning Department
Sign Regulation
No sign may be erected, placed, replaced, moved, enlarged, illuminated, or substantially altered in the City of Laconia without a permit in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. No permit shall be issued until a Master Signage Plan is filed with the City of Laconia for the parcel on which a permit is being sought. A permit application and fee shall be submitted to the Zoning Technician and include a set of plans to an appropriate scale showing the location, size, method of illumination and materials proposed for said sign.
Size and type of size are regulated depending on the Zoning District of the property.

NOTES:
*Sandwich board signs only are permitted.
- Maximum size: 16 square feet, including all faces. Sandwich boards are permitted, provided that they are removed daily. See Chapters 109 and 201 of the Public Ordinances for signs in the public right-of-way.
- Maximum size 24 square feet.
- Maximum size: 48 square feet.
- Maximum size: 72 square feet.
- Maximum size: 18 square feet.
- Maximum size: 24 square feet. Signs may project into public ROW where buildings are located 4 feet or closer to the front lot line.
- Maximum size: 12 square feet.
- Maximum size: 32 square feet.
- Maximum size of sign area to be calculated as the face of a wall sign.
- Maximum size of one face shall not exceed 50% of the maximum sign area permitted or the maximum size of a wall sign as permitted in the district, whichever is less. Height limit is 12 feet.

- May be incorporated into wall, freestanding, marquee, roof integral, suspended, projected and directory signs where otherwise allowed.
