Adopt-A-Spot Program

Adopt-A-Spot was started in 1994 as a way of encouraging individuals, civic organizations, garden clubs, businesses and other organizations to assist with the beautification of the City by planting flowers.

What will I be asked to do?

If you would like to participate in this program, you will be asked to submit an application with contact information and the location of your adopted area. You may adopt City property or your own. You will be asked to plant and maintain your adopted area, including watering and weeding, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Recognition for your efforts!

For areas adopted on City property, we will place a sign with your name or organization at the adopted site. By August 15th of each year, a committee will judge all the adopted areas in the various categories and choose the winners. A plaque and a gift certificate in the amount of $50 will be presented to the winners by the City Council at one of their meetings.
