Facilities:

The Laconia municipal recreation programs are made available through a system of 18 park, playground and school facilities. These facilities vary in size from less than one acre to as much as 34 acres and in diversity from parks to multi-use facilities. The City also has a system of Park houses available to rent for meetings or social functions (contact the Recreation Office).

 

 
Community Center
(.8 acre): To get there: this is the main Community Center located at 306 Union Avenue. This facility contains the Laconia Parks & Recreation offices, a gymnasium, a racquetball court and several meeting rooms.

 

  
Bartlett Beach (3.7 acres): To get there: Court Street, turn at Walter's Market on to Winnisquam Avenue, go to end of street, take a left, then all the way to end of street. This area includes 600 feet of frontage on Lake Winnisquam with a life-guarded beach. There is also fishing and a playground with picnic facilities. There are restrooms.

 


 
Bond Beach
(30 acres): (Laconia Resident only) To get there: Elm Street (Lakeport) to Bell Street, take right-hand road down to beach. This area has 1000 feet of frontage on Lake Opechee, including a life-guarded beach of approximately 200 feet. There are also picnic facilities with a changing-room facility with rest rooms, a playground, and fishing. Most of this parcel is undeveloped and is used for nature walks and cross-country skiing.

 


 
 
Bobotas Park
(6.2 acres): To get there: this property abuts the Laconia High School. There is a 60-ft. baseball diamond, a field hockey field, a football practice facility, and an equipment storage building.

 


 
Leavitt Park
(6.6 acres): To get there: Elm Street in Lakeport. This park has a playground and picnic facility, two basketball courts, two lighted tennis courts, a regulation baseball field, a skating area and a Park house.

 


 
Memorial Park
(18 acres): To get there: Court Street, left on to Pearl Street. This park is 18 acres and located off of Court Street. This facility includes a playground with picnic facilities, a lighted softball field with rest rooms and concession stand, a lighted hardball field with rest rooms and concession stand, a lighted outdoor skating facility, a sliding hill, five tennis courts, and fishing.

 


  
 
Opechee Park
(20 acres): To get there: North Main Street, across from the Central Fire Station. There are 2800 feet of life guarded beaches as well as fishing in Lake Opechee. There are five Little League ball fields, two playgrounds, two changing-room facilities with rest rooms, an all-weather track, and a concession stand. Picnic facilities are found throughout the park, the former Laconia Fairgrounds. There is also a Park house.

 

 
 Robbie Mills
(2 acres): to get there: 15 Eastman Road, corner of Eastman and Meredith Center Road. This facility has one lighted soccer field, one lighted hardball field, concession stand and restroom.

 

 
Sanborn Park
(4 acres): To get there: off of Mechanic Street. This area has a new playground, two basketball courts, and one 60-ft. baseball diamond.


Spruce Street (26 acres): This location is an undeveloped parcel.

 


 
Stewart Park
(2 acres) To get there: in the heart of downtown on Union Avenue near the lights. This is a green belt park for the City of Laconia bordering the Winnipesauke River and has park benches and fishing.

 


 
 
Tardif Park
(2 acres): To get there: Gilford Avenue to Highland Street, left onto to Crescent Street. This park has a lighted double-use court (basketball or tennis), a playground with picnic facilities, fishing on Jewett Brook and a Park house.

 


 
 
Weirs Beach
(2.5 acres): To get there: it’s the focal point of the tourist area of Weirs Beach. This area has a playground and picnic facility, 450 feet of life-guarded beach frontage and a new changing-room facility with rest rooms.

 


 
Weirs Docks
: To get there: on the boardwalk adjacent to Weirs Beach. This location provides 39 boat slips for boats on an average of 20-25 ft.

 


 
Weirs Park
(27 acres): To get there: Route 3, on Lucerne Avenue near the Weirs Beach Fire Station. This area contains nature trails and is for the most part undeveloped except for the Park house or Community Center.

 


 
Wyatt Park
(1.2 acres): To get there: South Main Street past Dunkin Donuts on right before Route 107. There is a playground and picnic facilities, two basketball courts, and a Park house.

 


 
Elm Street School
(4 acres): this location abuts the Bond Beach Property, has a playground, a 60-ft. baseball diamond, gymnasium and nature trails which continue on the Bond Beach property.

 


 
Pleasant Street School
(12.5 acres): this location has a playground, a 60-ft. baseball diamond, gymnasium and an outdoor learning center.

 



Woodland Heights School
(34 acres): this location has a playground, two 60-ft. baseball diamonds, a gymnasium, and undeveloped woodland with nature trail.

1. Opechee Park

                                             

Location: 867 North Main St., across from Central Fire Station.

 

2. Tardif Park
                                       

Location: 51 Crescent St., Gilford Avenue to Highland St., left on Crescent Street.

 

3. Leavitt Park
                                     

Location: 334 Elm St., Lakeport.

 

4. Wyatt Park
                                     

Location: South Main Street on right before Route 107.

 

5. Weirs Community Center
                                    
     
        Location: Lucerne Ave., Route 3, Weirs Beach (at Fire Station).
